Bucket elevators are used for vertical transport of bulk materials. The fast-running bucket elevators can handle lumps up to 50 mm in size and can withstand temperatures up to 350oC. The fast-running elevator is designed for centrifugal discharge.  The chain speed is 1.0-1,9 m/s. slow-running elevators have a chain speed of 0.40-0.63 m/s. It is recommended to have the bucket elevator equipped with a barring drive. The elevator chains, dimensioned to DIN 764 and DIN 766 specifications, are made of special hardened steel.
